Welcome to the Adventure!

Oh how I love looking at the wedding beauty on sites like "Style Me Pretty" and "Once Wed." I've created my wedding website on WeddingWire.com and joined the bloggers at GetMarried.com. I've enjoyed reading the planning adventures of Bicoastal Bride, Thoughts of an All Consumed Bride, and wish I could workout with The Relentless Bride. We're all on a mission, a date destined with an altar... and my creativity gene was in full mode... until life hit.

After several months of very little wedding planning, and much emotional processing done, I'm ready to share with you brides and hope you will talk with me about the emotional side of this journey. I'm willing to walk a fine line between being respectful to my Mr.'s privacy and being truly honest about making transition from total long-term adult independence to a life as one. There's been much difficult stuff to address, but I've decided that we can't be the only couple facing such normal issues.

On to the adventure...

There is a book that I often recommend entitled "The Five Love Languages."  It talks about how we all styles of receiving and giving love.  The difficulty often comes in relationship when we receive love in a way that is different than how our partner give love... or vise versa.

Just found your blog and love your intro. Thanks for the nod to my blog. I am really looking forward to your posts as I am a 30 something (37) bride marrying a 40 something (47) groom and can totally relate to the stresses that come from being a completely self sufficient indpendent woman for so many years and making that transition to living as a couple! Scary - but exciting!

Hey, Rhonda...in response to your comment on my blog today, that is hilarious that we have the same first date 'date' and the same wedding weekend date. How fun! Yes, I knew you were from over on our little BB site. Would love to hear more about what's going on with you over here. You should blog more :)

About Me

My photo
I'm a 30-something bride marrying an equally independent 40-something groom. We've always viewed this relationship as a journey, an adventure. What no one told us is that this adventure of joining two lives can feel downright scary and exhilarating at the same time.
